The human being's capacity to externalise selected facets
of our individual perception through the medium of inks,
paints, pencils, crayons, processed pixels or digital sound
is a gift, and a joy. Whisperycat is just another one of the
untold millions of people 'out there' who take both pleasure
and solace in the act of artistic creation, for no other
reason than that 'It feels right'.
For myself and countless others like me, digital technology
has extended the traditional artistic domain with a host of
empowering new media, tools and presentation methods.
The Whisperycat website is an ongoing cyber-record of one
ordinary person's journey into the brave new virtual world
of convergent media.
Whisperycat was 'born'
on January 30th 2003.
At that time, a Google search for 'whisperycat' returned zero
results. Today, in 2009, the same search pulls up 45,100 results.
It's sobering to realise that every image, every word, every
opinion we commit to the virtual multiverse will outlast us.
It may even be the case that my grandchildren's children will
one day read these words.
Whoever you are, and wherever you're from, I hope you enjoy my
drawings, paintings, cartoons and multimedia experiments.
Be creative. Peace and joy
